Sunday Bridges

This rather rusty and rickety-looking railroad bridge is in Niles Canyon, near Fremont, California. It was built in the early 1900s by Western Pacific Railroad, who later operated the legendary California Zephyr passenger trains.

I do remember well that style of construction. I never did but many friends would climb to the top and dive into the rivers around home.
Love the header and the bridge pictures.
From the first coast.

It's amazing (and scary) how old some of the bridges are that we are still using. Nice shot. Happy Easter. Mickie :)

Quite a contrast between that great old rickety bridge and the sleek and shiny Zephyr train!
