Today's doorway is the Garden Court entrance to the main hospital at Stanford University Hospitals and Clinics. Stanford gave «Louis» a new left knee in January, so he is quite familiar with this entrance. Once in the door, a right turn will take you to the hospital that was finished in 1955 and designed by the noted architect Edward Durrell Stone. A left turn takes you to a new wing that includes new hospital rooms and the surgical suites among other functions. The hospital has 48 surgical suites and a staff of more than 800 physicians.
The Garden Court, no matter what the season, is always abundantly planted with seasonal flowers.
