«Louis» has commented in many recent posts about the hazy sky. The cause of the haze has been a heavy marine layer, a.k.a. high fog, that has hung over the Bay late in the day, returning early in the evening. Thus it has never quite really burned off for the last few weeks. Here is the marine layer moving in at 1800 hrs, obscuring Angel Island, Sausalito, Tiburon, Marin County and the Golden Gate Bridge. Also obscured were our normal views of the Bay Bridge, Treasure Island, Yerba Buena Island, Alcatraz and San Francisco. That's Albany Point on the left and Point Isabel on the right.

It makes for a beautiful view and it will make you appreciate the view even more when it finally burns off. We've had precious few foggy mornings this year; I think today was perhaps the 3rd one of 2010!
le brouillard tombe , cela fait penser au film d'horreur "Fog" de J Carpenter
That's a great shot — gray coming and going.
(My daughter resides in The Mission and has always been a little bit obscure.)
;)
Ooh like that one with the slate gray fog and pastel orange horizon. Tres atmospheric
wow soft colors great feeling!
I like that light captured in the horizon.
We've had a similar condition here.
Lovely! The fog and light combine for a nice, mysterious look and feel.
Cut the crap! Call it what it is... FOG! That's what we call it here in the East! hahahaha!
Makes for a gorgeous shot!
Socked in I'd say. MB
Now this is a truly mysterious view! Awesome!
I wish I could send you some of our heat to burn it off for you!
How gorgeous! It looks like a mirage. I never knew fog could be so pretty! Or maybe it's because you took it ;D
I like the feel of this picture and I agree with the others that it does add a bit of mystery!
It's beautiful and I agree with JM, a mysterious view, I like it! ;)

This is so beautiful and lovely @!! Great !!
Very nice the pink streak in the fog over there. Wonderful scenery indeed!
Yes!, the haze makes for a beautiful scene.
Interesting...we've had several days of haze, too, broken yesterday by a rain, but it's still cloudy. I love the pastels here, especially the area in orange.

Love the fog and the sea.
It's all been said, belle vue! And this haze is a lot prettier than the one I shall post tomorrow. ;-)
