When you enlarge this image, you'll note that the heavy marine layer, a.k.a. high fog, makes the Golden Gate Bridge appear ghostly. Also note the light on the Marin side of the bridge, the ship heading toward the bridge and a brave sailboat on the Bay in front of Angel Island.

How I remember the heavy fog in San Francisco every July and August. The tourists would come and they would freeze. Then in September and October the weather would be gorgeous. I guess it has not changed since I left the city.

Ghostly, is a word that come to mind.
So glad you pointed out the bridge, or I would have missed it! The whole thing is just a gorgeous image, especially with that curve of land in the foreground, anchoring us!

Beautifully done! Love the sherbet orange top layer. I'm a big fan of the marine layer since it brings with it cooler temps!
It definitely appears ghostly with that heavy fog. I have been up close the bridge on a short cruise when the fog was as heavy as that. It was eerie & beautiful at the same time. :)
You always manage to capture the most amazing and mysterious views of the bay. Bravo, Louis!
