San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge; Suspension section

Clic sur l'image pour l'agrandir

Another view from the slopes of Mount Tamalpais, this time of the suspension bridge section of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge. Unlike the cantilever section seen in yesterday's post, this bridge will not be replaced. Also seen in this image is Sausalito harbor, Alcatraz Island, and (like yesterday) Yerba Buena and Treasure Islands, and Alameda (which is in itself, another island).

Quite a shot, la Vache! I especially like all the sailboats dotting the water.

Why is the bridge not being replaced; I would think it is an important bridge?
