Swine Flu

The outbreak of Swine Flu in Mexico has given the economy of San Francisco a boost. Cruise ships with Mexico on their itinerary have been re-routed to San Francisco. Two cruise ships called on San Francisco the day this photo was taken; one of the ships is visible if you click on the photo to enlarge it. The two ships deposited 6,800 passengers on The City, few of which packed for the cold, rainy weather that greeted them. The Mayor's office estimates that these 6,800 passengers added $2,000,000 to the economy of San Francisco in the hours they were here. Thus for San Francisco, the Swine Flu outbreak has been a good thing...

I've been wondering where those cruise ships might be going, Louis. And thanks for telling me the word verification--that's a hoot!

I'm happy for San Francisco, but to be greeted with rains and those dark clouds — poor tourists.

I am happy for San Fran too. I guess there is always a silver lining if you look close enough.
