«Le Saint» est ouvert!

"The Saint" is open!

"Louis la Vache" has been absent from the blogosphere for weeks because he's been busy opening his new espresso shop, Café-Saint-Honoré. The shop opened on 15 November and has been well-received by the community. "Louis" et Mme la Vache thank all of you for your support!

0600 heures, le 15 novembre: le saint est ouvert!

Louis, sitting on his milking stool and holding a cup of coffee, greets customers as they enter.

Our first 2 customers!

On Saturdays, buy two pounds of coffee, get half a pound free!

Louis has his own blend of coffee, Melange Sainte Vache, "Holy Cow" blend, along with Carburant de Grenouille, "Frog Fuel," which has a hint of chicory. There is also Sans Plomb, "Unleaded," for the decaf drinker. "Louis" has been authorized as a Bodum distributor.

More of "Louis's" coffees. Café-Saint-Honoré offers 12 varieties, six of which are Organic Fair Trade.

As a gift suggestion, "Louis" offers the Bodum Chocolatier and Valrhona Cocoa from France.

"Louis's" collection of postcards and photos from when he lived in France are decoupaged onto the table tops.

In addition to being a dealer for Bodum, "Louis" offers cups and mugs, teapots and a line of foods from France.

Café-Saint-Honoré is primarily an espresso shop, but also offers sandwiches, salads, desserts, ice cream from local favorite, Ici. The shop is open 6 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week and has free WiFi. What "Louis" would REALLY like to do is open a French-style boulangerie - thus the name: Saint-Honoré is the patron saint of bakers.

Ok, for a minute there I couldn't figure out where to put my comment. "enregistrez un commentaire?" Wow.

Congratulations on opening so soon. The place looks fantastic, indeed!

But where are the ratty looking chairs falling apart when you only look at them, where are all the chain smokers, and all the slow moving people making it possible for you to wait more than 20 minutes for a simple, straightforward coffee to go? ;) (Private joke for Louis) ]

Louis and Mme La Vache a huge congratulations to one of my favourite and most missed bloggers. In our poor economic climate it is wonderful to see such a brave new enterprise. I wish you both all the luck in the world it looks terrific. May you always be busy and prosperous. We will all want regular updates.

Congrats on your new business Louis, I hope you have much luck and enjoy it. It looks like it came right out of a Van Gogh painting.

But what is the address? I'd love to be able to get an espresso there the next time I'm in the bay area.
