Another fire!

Last Monday, "Louis" showed you this
fire, today you see a fire on
Yerba Buena Island between the two spans of the
San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge. The temperatures in the Bay Area have been quite high, and the danger of fire corresponds to the temperature as the Bay Area gets most of its rain between Thanksgiving and Easter. The fire on Yerba Buena Island was only a grass fire, but it wreaked havoc with traffic on the Bay Bridge and all the associated arteries feeding traffic onto it or feeding off of it. "Louis" was very happy he wasn't having to commute home from San Francisco today!
In the foreground is the Albany Fields Horserace Track.

Louis,
I just knew you would love a good WORDLE. I could do them all day long. Let's do a French Wordle. Mine will be quite small since my vocabulary est tres petite (?)
Another lovely view.
beautiful picture!
What a spectacular view.
These views are all from your balcony, aren't they?

Drop by and see my odd shot.

Lovely view from your balcony.
Here's my odd shot

Thank goodness it was just a grass fire. California seems to get some of the most awful fires in the world!
Fires are a problem here too in the summer heat. Do you have those planes that waterbomb the fire..you'd have a grandstand view of that from your balcony
It is too wet for these kind of fires here. abulous overiew.
Nikons. are wonderful.
What a distant fire can do. Amazing photo, Louis.
Smoke to add to fog... if it ain't one thing, it's another.
I buy maybe one newspaper a year for the budget. Not this year though - I have the Yellow Press online now.
Not sooo odd ..

Thanks for the visit! I've just returned from Australia, as you'll see from my blog! In Australia were also a lot of bushfires. Some of them were intentionally lit, others by accident and they were difficult to control.
Louis I think you will like this site. Certainly a trip down memory lane.

Well captured, and welcome to the Nikon club ;-)
I've not been over here since last Wednesday, so I've been catching up. Your photos are as good as ever, and I love your Sky Watch picture. Thanks for your kind comments on mine.
If this is your balcony view, I should not be posting mine!! Those are wonderful...I'd love to wake up to each every morning!
the view is great, but I can see how dangerous that drive across the bridge can be with all that smoke to impair vision. Glad you made it safely back to your balcon.
Fire seqason is always a bit scary.
I read alot about horseracing and now I know where that racetrack is! Great photo of the smoke from the fire.
A very different picture of your beautiful area. I like the foggy sultry pics better than FIRE. MB
If I didn't want to seem cynical, I would say : at least you get a nice weather, it's summer somewhere. Here, in France, the weather was awful. Thanks God, we where in the South East, the only area where a summer remain a summer.
I was reading your comment on Aileni's blog : Loose Ends, and I couldn't do less than interfer concerning political bias in newspapers. You would have an heart break watching our French TV news. Does Obama try to be elected here too? Obama says that...obama think that...Obama does that. These journalists'state of mind tendentious is disgusting. Just beacause of that bias, I would vote the opposite by contradiction mind....If I was concerned. Just to say, I'm with you concerning Informations.
