Louis, your excellent image is at once, beautiful and eerie. So little good comes from the destructive power of wild fires and you've captured so well the resulting conditions of filtered sunlight and soft pastels across the bay.

Like they said above me, the pastel look in the picture is just breathtaking, I absolutely love this!

The effects of those fires is frightening. Thanks for this, Louis. Still, a great photo.

Beautiful photo, Louis. It's sad that terrible fires are causing this lovely color in the sky.

Splendid and charming image. It seems a old print.

Fumeux mais majestueux.
Smoky but royal.

It is well known that we Portuguese once sailed the seven seas searching for new lands, wealth and adventures.
We were brave in those days and gave the world new worlds!

Luckily I don’t have to sail the big oceans on a small ship to sea the wonders of our world …
No Sir, I just need to check with Mr. Tom, the finest host there is, for a trip around the world with SKY WATCH TOURS and with a click here, a click there I am quickly in the USA, England, Brazil, Italy, China, Australia, Finland … well, everywhere.

And on each stop I come to see a little marvel of our world under a great sky!
Hope you can come and see my piece of the sky at lenses & visions

So subtle, so delicate, so beautiful.
A pleasure as always to view.

That is rather disturbing, isn't it.

The smoke made for some pretty amazing skies up here in Oregon, too. My post shoes a photo my daughter took from our car as we were traveling last weekend.

Our skies have cleared - hope yours have as well.

Thanks for sharing this photo.

Nice effect for you Sky Watch, but too bad that forest-fires begin so early in the season.

Excellent .... love the moodyness of this

Thank gods atmospheric conditions have improved around here, but poor big sur is really getting hit with that huge and untamed fire.   They say that fire is a natural and necessary thing, but Big Sur doesn't deserve such a destructive thing.

Great catch for SWF! God and Nature first made us what we are, and then out of our own created genius we make ourselves what we want to be. Follow always that great law. Let the sky and God be our limit and Eternity our measurement.... Happy weekend! Mine's up too hope you can drop by.... here
