Le Vendredi "Sky Watch" - Danse entre la lune et le brouillard à minuit

Dance between the moon and the fog at midnight

Clic sur l'image pour l'agrandir

The moon and fog seem to be in a dance at midnight, the fog waltzing around the moon. Comme vu du balcon Chez la Vache, the sodium vapor lamps at the Golden Gate Fields racetrack make the image appear to be one of fire and smoke rather than moonlight and fog. This shot is especially for Babooshka.

Sky Watch Friday is hosted by Wiggers World.

oooh! That's a bit eery. The sodium or mercury (as you suggest) vapor lights glowing in the fog almost look like something's on fire. Nice image. You're fortunate to have such an unobstructed view!

Ida a dit…

Great capture. The moon and the fog flirting. ;)
Beautiful lighting from the bridge.

Louis: very nice capture of the Moon.

Louis la Vache a dit…

Chuck - "Louis" thinks you are right - those are sodium vapor lights and will edit the text accordingly!

Dewdrop a dit…

The photograph combined with the description... personifying the weather... "Dewdrop" likes it.

babooshka a dit…

Phospherous came to my mind. It is very glow in the dark image. Babooshka likes very much the Luminous lunar image and the shimmering golden lights.

Magnificent shot!

Ahhh, "Louis," "Louis." That's a magnificent view from your balcony, and wonderful capture of the moon and the "fire" below. A lovely and unusual Sky Watch.

I believe the moon doesn't want to get too close! Wet moons don't dry that time of night!

What a beautiful moon shot with a beautiful city shot. I love the setting

Dina a dit…

Oui, exactement, cher Louis la Vache. The fog does a circle dance (maybe the hora?) around la lune, to the music of the spheres.
Fog is so living, exciting!
Tres belle.

chrome3d a dit…

Moonlight fog sounds so good. It ooks good too.

Steven and Aisha a dit…

oh wow! That is a really good shot of the moon with the fog! Love it!

Catherine a dit…

As we would say, here, in France "la lune est noyée", "the moon is drowned". Its halo gives a fantastic effect.
Those lamps, their reflection, looks like fire on the sea.
You play with fire today, Louis!
Thanks for commenting.

Mysterious shot what with a halo around the moon, the lights, the darkness. Very nice!

I've got some moon photos, too, though not as interesting as yours, I'm afraid.

Ah, the fog. Brings back lots of SF memories. I grew up north of there in Marin and Sonoma, missing it there a little lately, 'cept for the craziness. Nice photo and happy Skywatching! Bonnie
